27 Shevat
It has been such a busy day you would not believe. Considering there were no dirty boys to wash, no cooking as such (just yesterday’s stew with a few extra herbs) and the weather was pleasant, we just didn’t seem to stop. I suppose it was just having to do the children’s chores on top of our own that took all the time. I never realised how much they did. I must appreciate them more. They look after the chickens, the goats, the donkey, clean the yard. On top of all that, Rivkah is so helpful around the house and Shmuli is learning basket making and farming skills. Somehow Shmuli still manages to get into mischief. But that’s boys for you. Hadassah has been making something special for Little Miriam’s party. She is hiding it in our barn. I am not sure what it is exactly, she says it is a secret! She’s as bad as the children. She just giggles and blushes when I ask her. Finally, we managed to sit down and eat.
What!!!? There is such a banging on the door Shmuel has gone to check it out. I’ll let you know tomorrow…
